| Ag Commissioner comes to Hopkinsville |
|
Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner Jamie Comer was in Hopkinsville this morning to promote generosity to three worthy programs. Speaking to local youth, members of the Christian County Clerk’s staff and media, Commissioner Comer noted that now is when the bills go out to renew Kentucky farm tags and he hopes more residents will choose to make a 10 dollar donation to the Future Farmers of America, Kentucky 4-H and to the Kentucky Proud Program. Comer says the donation is optional, but it’s a worthwhile cause.
The Commissioner says every dollar for 4H and FFA donated in Christian County comes back to the Christian County branches, just as it is in every county.
Comer said only 27 percent of Christian County farm tag owners have traditionally chosen to participate in the donation program. Comer made a stop in Elkton, following his Hokpinsville visit. State Representative Myron Dossett was also in attendance for the event. ** 01/30/2013/am |
