Fort Campbell officials will be hosting a Welcome Home ceremony Friday afternoon for local soldiers returning from their nine-month deployment to Afghanistan.
The soldiers are assigned to Alpha Company of 1^st Battalion, 187^th Infantry Regiment, 3^rd Brigade Combat Team.
Military officials say the Welcome Home ceremony completes Alpha Company’s tour in Eastern Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, where they had an essential role in 3^rd Brigade’s mission to facilitate the transition of full combat power to the Afghan National Security Forces in Regional Command East.
The ceremony is scheduled to take place Friday at the post’s Passenger Processing Center at 3 p.m.
