Overturned semi caused significant traffic problems on I-24 Monday

A tractor-trailer hauling fencing material overturned on I-24 last night, causing significant traffic tie-ups, but only minor injuries to the driver.

Kentucky State Police say 67-year old John Oldham of Louisville, Illinois was merging onto the interstate from the Pennyrile Parkway around 5pm when his load of chain link fencing shifted and caused the semi to overturn onto its left side.

The tractor-trailer slid across both eastbound lanes and entered the median. Oldham was treated by EMS at the scene for minor injuries and crews spent several hours cleaning up the wreckage before traffic resumed normal flow.
