The Hopkinsville-Christian County Relay for Life pancake breakfast over the weekend was a success.

Spokesperson Brandon Burke says the first official Relay team fundraiser raised over $1,500 for the American Cancer Society. Each team of relay participants raised money by selling tickets and tickets were also sold at the door at First Baptist Church.

In all, more than 300 people showed up to eat and support their local relay.

Burke says First Baptist Church’s relay team will be hosting a Valentine’s Banquet in the church fellowship hall on February 9^th at 6pm. Tickets for that will be on sale at the church during office hours through February 3^rd.

The Christian County Child Care Association will hold a business expo as a fundraiser February 23^rd from 10 until 3 at the old Christian County Middle School. One can call 889-9520 for more information on that event or to sign up to become a vendor.
