| Proposed facilities plan approved for CCPS |
|
The Christian County Schools Local Planning Committee met tonight and approved the school district’s proposed facilities plan for the next four years. The proposed plan lists 11 schools in priority two, which means those schools are classified as needing major renovations. Those 11 schools were identified as Belmont Elementary School, Indian Hills Elementary School, Millbrooke Elementary School, Pembroke Elementary School, South Christian Elementary School, Sinking Fork Elementary School, Hopkinsville Middle School, North Drive Middle School and Christian County High School. The proposed plan also lists The Learning Center, Holiday Elementary and Lacy Elementary Schools as transitional with Keith Sharp with J-K-S Architects & Engineers of Hopkinsville talking about why those schools were listed as transitional. The proposed plan was unanimously approved by the committee and will be forwarded to the Kentucky Department of Education for approval. When KDE approves the proposed facilities plan, it will then be sent to the Christian County Board of Education for final approval. ** (01/28/2013/MF) |
