The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office cited a woman for driving under the influence Sunday afternoon after she was involved in a single-vehicle crash on Manitou Road.

Deputies say the single-vehicle wreck occurred around 2:30 p.m. on 1425 Manitou Road and that 62-year old Alma Travis had to be extricated by first responders and removed from the scene by Medical Center Ambulance.

Hopkins County Sheriff’s deputies say Travis was charged and remains hospitalized for treatment of her injuries after her vehicle ran off the roadway, struck an earth embankment and overturned in a ditch.
