Hopkinsville Police are investigating a shooting incident that took place in the area of Woodmill Road Friday night.

Police say around 10:22 p.m. officers were dispatched to 1435 Woodmill Road in reference to a male being shot.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim, identified as Jarvis Sivils, who stated he was shot by an acquaintance after a verbal altercation.

The victim told police that the suspect pointed a handgun and began shooting at him.

Police have not released any details about the extent of injuries Sivils sustained as a result of the shooting.

The suspect in this case has not been arrested and the case remains ongoing.
