Hopkinsville Police charged a local man with multiple offenses, including fleeing and evading police last night.

47-year old Gregory Barker of Hopkinsville is charged with failure to use or improper signal, operating a motor vehicle under the influence with aggravated circumstances, no operators license and fleeing or evading police and contempt of court.

Police say Barker made a right turn from West 14^th Street onto West 15^th and failed to use a turn signal and made a wide turn onto the wrong side of the roadway.

During the course of the vehicle pursuit, police say Barker fled on foot in the area of West 7^th Street after he stopped his vehicle in the roadway.

When questioned by police he admitted that he ran from police because he did not have a driver’s license.

ECC verified that Barker did not have a valid license.

Barker was taken into custody without incident and refused to submit a breath test.

The owner of the vehicle was contacted by authorities and stated he was unaware that anyone had his vehicle and wished to report it stolen.
