Hopkinsville Police charged a local man with multiple offenses, including fleeing and evading police last night.
47-year old Gregory Barker of Hopkinsville is charged with failure to use or improper signal, operating a motor vehicle under the influence with aggravated circumstances, no operators license and fleeing or evading police and contempt of court.
Police say Barker made a right turn from West 14th Street onto West 15th and failed to use a turn signal and made a wide turn onto the wrong side of the roadway.
During the course of the vehicle pursuit, police say Barker fled on foot in the area of West 7th Street after he stopped his vehicle in the roadway.
When questioned by police he admitted that he ran from police because he did not have a driver’s license.
ECC verified that Barker did not have a valid license.
Barker was taken into custody without incident and refused to submit a breath test.
The owner of the vehicle was contacted by authorities and stated he was unaware that anyone had his vehicle and wished to report it stolen. ** (01/25/2013/MF)
