Officials with the Pennyrile Allied Community Services Retired and Senior Volunteer Program are collecting donations of non-perishable goods to be sent to local soldiers who are deployed overseas.

Officials will be collecting personal items and snacks at the PACS office, which is located at 1100 Liberty Street through next month.

Every year the organization makes an effort to help victims, survivors and families of the September 11^th attacks and this year the donation project is focused on giving back to local troops.
