Kentucky State Police release preliminary fatal report

Preliminary statistics released by Kentucky State Police indicate that seven people died in six separate crashes on Kentucky’s roadways from Monday, Jan. 14th through Sunday.

State Police say a double-fatality, motor vehicle crash occurred in Logan County, while a single-fatality, motor vehicle crash occurred in each of the following counties: Christian, Clark, Hopkins, Madison and Scott Counties.

Police say the victims in Christian, Clark, Logan and Scott Counties were not wearing seat belts and that the use of alcohol was involved in the Madison County and Scott County crashes.

Through January 20th, preliminary statistics indicate that 24 people have lost their lives on Kentucky roadways during 2013, which is 17 less than reported for this time period in 2012.
