The 101st Airborne Division will be conducting a ceremony this Friday to mark the division’s upcoming deployment to Afghanistan. Military officials will be conducting a Color Casing ceremony as they prepare to deploy in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. The ceremony is scheduled to take place Friday afternoon at the division’s headquarters. Officials say the ceremony is important because it marks the final step in deployment preparation for the 101st Airborne Division headquarters. The division will be assuming operation control of NATO’s Regional- Command East in Bagram, Afghanistan this summer. The division conducted its most recent Color Casing ceremony on May 19th, 2010, prior to its deployment to Afghanistan. ** (01/23/2013/MF)
