Child injured in Trigg County farming accident

A Trigg County child was injured in a farming accident yesterday and was flown to a Nashville hospital.

The Trigg County Sheriff’s Office told WSMV TV out of Nashville that a roll of hay was being loaded off a trailer at a farm on Sammy Gunn Road just after 11:30 when it fell from a height of about eight feet and landed on a five-year old child.

Trigg County EMS took the child to the intersection of KY 139 and KY 164, where an Air Evac helicopter landed and transported the five-year old to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital. Officials have not released the name or condition of the child.
