Murray State University to host Spike Lee Film Festival

Officials with Murray State University say they plan on having a Spike Lee Film Festival later this month.

The film festival is scheduled to take place Monday, January 28th through Saturday, February 2nd in the Curris Center on Campus with the event to lead up to the 2013 MSU Presidential Lecture Series that features Lee speaking on America Through My Lens.

Officials say on Monday, January 28th, a Red Carpet Reception will begin at 6:15 p.m., followed by a showing of Inside Man at 7:15 p.m. in the Curris Center Theater.

A showing of Get on the Bus will also take place at the Curris Center Barkley Room on Wednesday, Jan. 30th at 7:15 p.m.

Officials say the last two films in the festival will both be shown in the Curris Center Theater — “Do the Right Thing” on Friday, February 1st at 10:30 p.m. and School Daze on Saturday, February 2nd at 11:30 p.m.

Spike Lee is scheduled to speak on Monday, February 4th 7:30 p.m. in Lovett Auditorium.
The MSU President’s Commission on Diversity and Inclusion is sponsoring the Spike Lee Film Festival.
