CCPS Local Planning Committee discuss individual school rankings

The Local Planning Committee for Christian County Public Schools held a public meeting tonight to develop the school district’s new facilities plan.

School District Chief Operations Officer, Kathy Hancock explained the role of the committee to clear up any confusion.

Local Architect Keith Sharp presented committee members with a list he compiled that ranked each school from worst to best with Holiday, Lacy and Belmont Elementary Schools listed as having an 8 percent life expectancy and up for replacement.

Hopkinsville High School was listed as having a zero percent life expectancy and also deemed to be up for replacement.

Sharp will make a recommendation of what he feels the school district’s facilities plan should look like during the next Local Planning Committee scheduled for Monday, January 28th.

After committee members receive Sharp’s recommendation, Ms. Hancock explained the next plan of action to formulate the school district’s facilities plan.

Tonight’s meeting is the second in a series of meetings regarding the facilities plan.
