Kentucky State Police investigated a vehicle fire that occurred on the Pennyrile Parkway around the 53 mile-marker this morning.
State Police say officers responded the scene around 6:00 a.m. and a preliminary investigation revealed that 52-year old Christopher W. Reynolds of Corydon, Kentucky was driving southbound in a 2007 International tractor that was hauling a tanker-trailer loaded with hydrochloric acid when for some unknown reason, the trailer caught fire.
Reynolds was able to disconnect the cab from the trailer and went uninjured in the incident.
Police say the roadway was closed for several hours while fire departments and hazmat crews cleared the scene and no injuries were reported. **
