Hopkinsville man charged with vehicle theft

A Hopkinsville man was arrested Friday for allegedly stealing a vehicle from a Westwood Drive man late last year.

Charged with theft by unlawful taking is 53-year old Anthony Wayne Shelton of Hopkinsville, who allegedly stole a 1965 Chevy Impala from Jeffrey Caldwell on December 17th before selling it to Transtar Recycling for $356.80.

Police were able to recover Caldwell’s car soon after the theft. Shelton remains in the Christian County Jail on $5,000 bond.
