Hundreds attend Hopdown the Pounds kick-off in Hopkinsville

Bradford Square Mall was packed this morning with hundreds of area residents determined to get into shape for the New Year, including WHOP’s Marie Fainter.

The kick-off for the 3rd Annual Hopdown the Pounds Challenge began at 9 a.m. with long lines already formed outside the mall prior to registration.

Kevin Meacham with the Hopkinsville-Christian County YMCA stated he was thrilled that so many people showed up to participate in this year’s weight-loss challenge.



First time participant, Dee Grice of Hopkinsville, commented that she looked forward to attending the numerous fitness and nutritional classes during the competition.



Participants will have another weigh-in on Saturday, March 9th from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Bradford Square Mall, where organizers will then announce this year’s winners.
