| Todd Fiscal Court meets for the first time in '13 |

Todd Fiscal Court met for the first time this year today, where Dispatch Director Donna Ruby gave an update on changes on how the 911 system is receiving calls. As most would expect, Ms. Ruby says the percentage of calls received from cell phones continues to dramatically increase from year to year.
911 centers are funded in part by a tax on phone bills and Ms. Ruby says funding for every center will diminish little by little each time a resident turns off a landline to go to wireless exclusively.
In other action, court approved the purchase of a three-quarter ton crew cab Ford pickup for the Road Department and approved a seven thousand dollar grant received by the Allensville Fire Department to purchase a new generator. Treasurer Tammy Robertson said the Sheriff’s Department’s most recent audit came back clean, with no financial discrepancies noted. ** 01/11/2013/am |
