A Clarksville woman is accused of lying to police about a vehicle theft.
Police say on Tuesday, around 11:50 a.m. officers responded to a call about a vehicle theft that occurred at 125 Dean Drive.
When officers arrived on the scene, 22-year old Morgan Meredith of Jim Court reported that she was visiting a friend overnight, looked outside in the morning and found her 2009 Nissan Maxima was missing.
Police say Meredith also told police that the keys were inside the vehicle and that the doors were unlocked and did not know who took her vehicle.
During the course of investigation, police were able to uncover that Meredith lied about the vehicle theft.
Police determined she loaned the vehicle to a man, who had later called her to say the vehicle had been wrecked and that she had this knowledge before contacting police about her car being stolen.
Meredith is charged with one count of false report and was booked into the Montgomery County Jail.
