| Imagination Library program gaining steam |
|
The Dolly Parton Imagination Library program has gotten off to a fast start in Christian County—even quicker than organizers had expected. Promoter Dianne Wood says only small efforts have been made to recruit parents of children ages zero through five to sign up for the one free age-appropriate book per month in the mail, but they are already more than a third of the way to their goal of 2,000 participants.
Christian County residents wanting to sign up their child for the program can do so at the Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library, on the library website or at a number of locations in the county.
An anonymous donor helped get the program started and fundraising efforts will be needed in the future to keep it going. ** 01/08/2013/am |
