Hopkinsville Police sent four bodies to the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office in Madisonville for autopsy in a 24-hour period as part of two separate murder investigations.

HPD Sgt. Kyle Spurlin says the body of 38-year old Brian Summers was sent to Madisonville first Saturday night and the bodies of his parents—67-year old Tommie and 66-year old Linda Summers were taken for autopsy Sunday.

All three were discovered at 309 Hillaire Drive with gunshot wounds by a family member just before 10 Saturday morning, with the parents dead on the scene and Brian pronounced dead soon after at Jennie Stuart Medical Center.

Police are investigating the incident as a double-murder-suicide but declined to identify who they believe the shooter was until after the autopsy. Sgt. Spurlin says the HPD detectives division could release more information pertaining to the autopsy results in the coming days, but that he didn’t have any more details to release Sunday evening.

Sgt. Spurlin says an autopsy was also performed on 20-year old Alicia Jackson of Hopkinsville, who was found dead at 725 Howell Street Saturday evening. HPD Chief Guy Howie said at the scene that Ms. Jackson had sustained some type of trauma and the report said the shooting incident was being investigated as a murder. The autopsy on Ms. Jackson could shed some light on how exactly she died.

Police said they don’t have any suspects in connection with the Howell Street incident and both investigations continue.
