Crofton man flown to Vandy after Friday wreck

A Crofton man was flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center following a head-on collision on Madisonville Road this morning.

Christian County Sheriff’s Captain Chris Miller says the incident happened around 10:15 near the 29 mile-marker when a northbound vehicle driven by 37-year old Michael McBride of McBride Lane, Crofton veered into the southbound lane and hit a Frito Lay truck driven by 44-year old William Ray of Hanson head-on.

Both vehicles sustained severe damage and Captain Miller says McBride sustained serious injuries to multiple parts of his body including a possible broken leg. Air Evac was called to the scene to fly McBride to Vandy.

Captain Miller says police do not know why McBride crossed into oncoming traffic and the wreck remains under investigation. Ray went injured in the crash.
