The Christian County Sheriff’s Office has joined forces with the Pennyroyal Regional Prevention Center to offer a prescription drug drop box.

Anyone with expired or unused prescription pills can safely dispose of those medications at the Sheriff’s Office on West 7^th Street between 8am and 4:30pm in the drop box that’s similar to the one offered at the Hopkinsville Police Department.

The boxes are meant to increase public safety by getting unwanted medications out of people’s homes, where they have the potential to be abused or accidentally wind up in children’s hands.

Sheriff Livy Leavell says he sincerely hopes the citizens of Christian County will take advantage of the opportunity to help create an environment that protects children.
