A Hopkinsville man was summonsed to court on theft charges Wednesday for allegedly giving away merchandise while he was employed at a local sporting goods store last summer.
Charged with theft by unlawful taking is 32-year old Clayton Jessup of Hopkinsville. The summons says Jessup admitted to giving away just over 27-hundred dollars worth of merchandise at Hibbett Sports while he was employed at the store in late June and early July.
Police also say there is video surveillance from the store showing the alleged crimes. Jessup has a court date of January 16th.
