A news release from District Spokesperson Heather Aubin says the unrated tournament will be Saturday afternoon at 1 at North Drive Middle School. The tournament will be a four-round Swiss-style competition, with trophies awarded to first, second and third place finishers.
Chess boards, pieces and clocks will be provided. Students wishing to participate must register by contacting Ruth Lynch at 887-7020 or Laura Faulkner at 887-4285. The cost is free for middle school chess club members and admission is five dollars for the public.
