Tip leads to the arrest of suspected bank robber

A Kentucky man wanted in connection with a couple of recent bank robberies has been taken into custody.

39-year old Weston Hurd of Lee Drive, Henderson, Kentucky is now charged with two counts of 1st Degree Robbery and is lodged in the Henderson County Jail.

Thanks to a tip, the Owensboro Police Department was able to locate and arrest Hurd for his alleged involvement in the robbery of First Security Bank on Friday and Kentucky Telco Bank on October 2nd in Owensboro.

Kentucky State Police worked jointly with Owensboro Police to serve the warrant.

In the latest incident, Hurd entered First Security Bank, demanded money and brandished a small handgun and was able to leave the bank with an undisclosed amount of money, until his arrest.
