Kentucky State Police investigate weekend wreck

Kentucky State Police continue to investigate a two-vehicle wreck that occurred over the weekend.

State Police say on Saturday, around 7:44 p.m. Troopers from Post-3 responded to the

report of a collision on I-65 Northbound, near the 68 mile marker.

State Police say 31-year old Roberto Diaz of Nashville was driving a 2006 Toyota Sienna mini-van, when he was struck in the rear by a 2007 Kia Sorrento SUV, driven by 39-year old Jermaine Collier of Avon, Indiana.

State Police say upon impact, Diaz' vehicle traveled off of the right hand side of the roadway and entered a ditch, while Collier's vehicle traveled across the left hand, Nortbound lane, where it struck and drove upon the concrete barrier wall.

Police say there were six other passengers in Diaz' vehicle, five of which were transported to the Caverna Memorial Hospital.

These passengers were treated and released for minor injuries, while Collier was evaluated on scene, but refused to be transported.
