A Thursday night house fire on Locust Grove Road in Hopkinsville only did minimal damage.
The report from Lieutenant Charles Henderson says six trucks and nine personnel responded around 5:30 to 131 Locust Grove. Smoke was coming from the house owned by Jack Rittenberry when the first units arrived.
They determined a rear bedroom was on fire and that it possibly began with a portable space heater placed close to a small table. Crews limited the damage to the one room and no one was injured in the incident.
Approximately five thousand dollars worth of damage was done to the structure and contents.
