A third suspect has been indicted by a Montgomery County Grand Jury in connection with a shooting incident in September that stemmed from a argument over a balloon.
The initial incident happened on September 24th, according to Clarksville Police, which says a confrontation began after a two-year old took a balloon from a house that was going to be shown to a realtor. When the balloon was retrieved from the child by a 24-year old male, an argument began with some of the residents at the dead end of Barkwood Drive.
The 24-year old man and a 41-year old woman with him retreated to a car and attempted to leave when a ford thunderbird with five men inside arrived and tried to block their path.
The males got out of the Thunderbird and one began firing shots at the victims with a handgun. The victim driving the car attempted to back away, but got stuck in a culvert. The five men in the Thunderbird got back into their vehicle and fired more shots as they drove away.
The vehicle had several bullet holes, as did a nearby home. Since that day, police had charged 22-year old James Antonio Bagwell of Clarksville with criminal attempted homicide charges and a 16-year old male juvenile with criminal solicitation of a felony.
A third suspect, 20-year old Detarius Lee Curry of Clarksville, was arrested Christmas Eve and charged with two counts of attempted homicide and reckless endangerment.
