Snow contributes to Fredonia wreck with injury

The winter weather contributed to a wreck in Fredonia Wednesday morning that sent an Eddyville woman to the hospital.

Kentucky State Police says 52-year old Cheryl Peek of Eddyville was northbound on State Route 641 when her van ran off the road after hitting a patch of roadway covered in snow.

Ms. Peek attempted to regain control of her vehicle and over-corrected, causing her to hit a sign before slamming into an embankment. The van overturned and Ms. Peek was taken by ambulance to Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah for non-life-threatening injuries. Police say she was wearing a seat belt.
