Kentucky State Police have released details on the double-fatality wreck in north Christian County from early Sunday morning.
A news release says 39-year old Shawn Patterson of Hopkinsville was southbound on Crofton Fire Tower Road just before 1am when he failed to stop at a stop sign at Crofton-Fruit Hill Road and struck a tree.
Patterson and his passenger, 39-year old April Lykins of Elkton, were both pronounced dead on the scene. Neither victim was wearing a seat belt and KSP is investigating alcohol as a factor in the crash.
