Christian County School Board honors two members

The Christian County Board of Education held its final meeting of the year tonight and also said their farewells to two departing school board members.

The meeting began on an upbeat note with Jarae Meriwether of Hopkinsville invited to sing a few holiday songs.

School Board members unanimously approved a memorandum of agreement between the school district and local churches and organizations to be able to transport students to an off-site location in case of a crisis, like a natural disaster.

After discussing school related matters, each school board member, thanked Shelia Cottrell and Besty Glover for their countless hours and dedication to Christian County students over the years.

Ms. Glover stated she had a lot to say, but chose to talk about who she will miss most and thanked the community for their support.

Ms. Cottrell took the time to thank parents, faculty and school board members in their efforts to ensure all students succeed in school.

Prior to the school board meeting, a reception was held in honor of Ms. Glover and Ms. Cottrell for their years of service to the community and to school district over the years.
