Police stepping up efforts to stop drunk drivers

Police from across the area are participating in the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Campaign this holiday season.

Christian County Sheriff’s Captain Chris Miller says there are traditionally more impaired drivers on the road around Christmas and New Years and that the department will be looking to pull those motorists over.

                                              

Captain Miller says the goal of the program is to prevent as many alcohol-related wrecks as possible.

                                               

Kentucky State Police say 128 people had died on Kentucky roadways in wrecks involving alcohol as of Monday.
