Kentucky State Police recently executed 13 search warrants across the state with the large scale operation centered around internet related child exploitation investigations and the arrests of seven individuals on Possession and Distribution of Matter Portraying the Sexual Performance by a Minor.
The Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch over the last several months has opened up several investigations into the possession and distribution of images involving child sexual exploitation.
This week, the Electronic Crime Branch, in conjunction with state troopers and detectives from seven KSP post areas, served search warrants covering nearly half the Commonwealth.
State Police say to date, seven suspects have been arrested and additional charges are expected upon complete examination of all the evidence obtained during execution of the search warrants.
The KSP Electronic Crime Branch is part the Kentucky Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, consists of dozens of officers throughout the Commonwealth who investigate the crime of child sexual exploitation.
Arrests during the operation include the following Kentucky residents: 42-year old Robbie Criswell of Richmond, 63-year old William R. Helton of Stony Fork, 25-year old John M. Phillips of Kenvir, 63-year old Harold Givens of London, 40-year old James Baker of Nancy, 20-year old Jose Garcia of Versailles and 47-year old Thomas Whitehead of Greensburg. **
