KSP release latest preliminary fatal report

Preliminary statistics released by Kentucky State Police today indicate that 10 people died in 10 separate crashes on Kentucky’s roadways from Monday, Dec. 10th through Sunday.

A single-fatality motor vehicle crash occurred in each of the following counties: Christian, Clay, Clinton, Daviess, Fayette, Gallatin, Laurel, Scott and Wolfe Counties.

The victims in Daviess, Gallatin and Laurel Counties were not wearing seat belts.

A pedestrian was killed in Grant County with the suspected use of alcohol was involved in the fatal collision.

Through Sunday, preliminary statistics indicate that 709 people have lost their lives on Kentucky roadways during 2012, which is 10 more than what was reported for this time period last year.

State Police say of the 564 motor vehicle fatalities, 307 victims were not wearing seat belts and a total of 128 fatalities have resulted from crashes involving the suspected use of alcohol.
