Safety a top priority at CCPS

Christian County Public Schools Superintendent Mary Ann Gemmill issued a statement today to reassure parents, students and educators that measures are in place to ensure the safety of everyone who walks through the doors of any of the district’s schools.

In the wake of the tragic events that took place in Newtown, Connecticut on Friday, Ms. Gemmill spoke about ways local students and educators are kept safe.



Ms. Gemmill also stated that services are being extended to students and staff that may have difficulty after learning about the events that took place on Friday at Newtown, Connecticut.



Ms. Gemmill stated the school district values its partnership with city officials, including the Hopkinsville Police Department, the Christian County Sheriff’s Office, Randy Graham of Crisis Management and many others that help guide educators from harms way.

Parents are encouraged to contact their child’s school and arrange for a time to speak with the school principal if they have any questions, comments or concerns.
