| Area funeral home offering way to support Conn. victims |
|
An area funeral home is offering residents a way to show their support to the families in Connecticut affected by the mass shooting at Newtown Elementary School Friday. Shane Hessey, who is the owner of the Todd County and Cook-Webb Funeral Homes, says many families in Newtown are in need of financial help for final expenses and other costs. Donations are being collected at the funeral homes in Elkton and Guthrie to be sent to the Funeral Directors Association of Connecticut to assist those families. A register book has also been placed at the Todd County Funeral Home to be signed by members of the community. It will eventually be sent to the school to show respect to the families. Twenty children and six adults were killed at the school Friday morning when 20-year old Adam Lanza gunned them down—with police and all Americans still struggling to make any sense of the tragedy. ** 12/17/2012/am |
