More details are now known about the collision that ended with a vehicle inside the Hopkinsville post office late Sunday morning.

The Hopkinsville Police report says the incident happened around 11:45 when 81-year old Jesse Keown of Hopkinsville was attempting to park his vehicle. Keown told police his foot was wet and slipped off the brake and onto the gas pedal.

The car busted through the window and into the building, damaging post office boxes and doing other interior damage.

It was the third time in about two years someone drove a vehicle into the post office, with concrete barriers built in parts of the parking lot in recent months to prevent such incidents—though they didn’t extend all the way across.

Keown refused medical treatment at the scene and no one inside the post office was injured.
