A Clarksville man appeared in Montgomery County Court this morning and pleaded Nolo Contendere to an attempted rape of a child.
Clarksville Police say Nolo Contendere means that Kenneth Troy Cohen did not plead guilty, but instead plead that he did not contest the facts presented by the state against him.
Cohen was originally arrested on July 9th, 2011 was in jail awaiting trial that was set to take place on Monday, January 28th, 2013.
The plea agreement calls for a 12-year sentence to be served at 100% confinement, being placed on the Violent Sex Offender Registry for Life, Community Supervision for Life, Sex Offender Treatment.
Police say on July 9th, 2011 Cohen was seen by another adult engaging in an inappropriate sexual act with a female child that was under the age of 12-years old.
During police questioning, Cohen admitted this behavior had occurred on several occasions.
Cohen will also subject to the Tennessee Serious Violent Offender Project which includes Global Positioning Satellite Monitoring once his sentence is served and he is released from prison.
