The Clarksville Police Department just expanded it’s force by welcoming several new officers.
On Monday, Commissioner of Finance, Debbie Frazier, administered the oath of office to five new police officers.
Police say the swearing in ceremony marks a significant milestone for the department as it is the first time in recent memory the department has attained its authorized law enforcement personnel levels of 273 sworn officers.
Police say with the addition of the new officers, the department has increased the number of female officers to 37, which is 13 percent.
The new officers have begun their in-house training and will be attending the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy class in Donelson early next year.
