Hopkins County Sheriff's Office continue death investigation

The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate after a deceased female was found on railroad tracks near Mortons Gap yesterday.

The woman was identified as 36-year old Lisa Sullivan.

The Sheriff’s Office reported that an autopsy was conducted in Louisville on Sullivan and that preliminary results indicated she died from blunt force trauma caused by being struck by a train.

A news release says a CSX train crew reported an unresponsive female on the tracks near Ed Brackett Lane near Mortons Gap.

Coroner Dennis Mayfield pronounced Sullivan dead at the scene.

The case is still under investigation pending a final report from the Medical Examiners Office.
