An Illinois couple accused of major crimes in their home state was arrested in Mortons Gap Wednesday afternoon.

Kentucky State Police and the U.S. Marshals Service worked together to find and arrest 41-year old John and 43-year old Janet Cunningham of Windsor, Illinois at the Mortons Gap Pilot Truck Stop just before 4pm Wednesday.

The Cunninghams were wanted by Illinois authorities on aggravated battery, armed robbery and vehicle theft charges. They were inside the stolen vehicle when located in Mortons Gap.

The couple was lodged in the Hopkins County Jail to await extradition back to Illinois.
