Country Music Singer Jo Dee Messina to be in Hopkinsville

The Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library’s Imagination Library kick-off celebration will take place Thursday, December 13th and a chart topping country music singer is expected to make an appearance during the event.

Officials say the kick-off celebration is scheduled to take place at 9 a.m. at Christian County Head Start, located at 1355 Glass Avenue and will feature Grammy nominee and country music star, Jo Dee Messina, who is also a mother of two and a strong supporter of children and education.

Krista Mack with the local Imagination Library Program Department says she is thrilled to have Messina help celebrate the kick-off.

Ms. Mack also spoke about importance the Imagination Library will be for local families in raising their children and preparing them for success.

The Dolly Parton Imagination Library began in Sevier County, Tennessee in 1996 to provide children up to 5-years old with high-quality and age-appropriate books.

The local library’s goal is to reach about 2,000 youngsters during the first year of operation.
