A Cadiz Police officer has received recognition for his efforts to get impaired drivers off the roads.

A news release says Officer Aaron Acree was recognized at the Governor’s Impaired Driving Enforcement Awards Ceremony in Louisville. Officer Acree had the most DUI arrests for the department over a 12 month period from October of last year through September of this year.

Chief Hollis Alexander says he’s pleased with Officer Acree’s efforts and is even more pleased that he became the fourth Cadiz officer to receive statewide recognition over the years.

So far this year, at least 123 people have died on Kentucky roadways in wrecks involving alcohol.
