The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in connection with an attempted murder from Sunday.

A news release from Detective Will Coursey says 34-year old Curtis Brasher is charged with attempted murder for allegedly using what’s termed an “edged weapon” to attack his step-mother at her home Sunday.

The victim has been identified as 66-year old Sherry Brasher of East Pine Street, Nortonville. Ms. Brasher is reportedly in stable condition at an area hospital after undergoing emergency surgery for her injuries.
