Navigational lights go out on Lake Barkley Bridge in Canton

There will be lane restrictions on the Lake Barkley/Cumberland River Bridge in Canton today, as crews work to repair navigational lights.

A news release from the Highway Department says Trigg County dispatch received a call saying the lights were out yesterday. The outage was immediately reported to the U.S. Coast Guard Operations Center in Louisville for broadcast to commercial tow boats in the area.

An electrical crew will be at the bridge today to look at the lights and to make the repairs as soon as possible. Motorists traveling the bridge should be prepared to encounter restrictions such as alternating traffic controlled by flaggers.

Approximately 3,800 vehicles cross the bridge on an average day.
