It’s been 67 years in the making and now a World War II Veteran will be getting his well deserved honor for his gallantry in action during the Battle of the Bulge.

101^st Airborne Division Commanding General, Major General James McConville will be presenting retired Staff Sergeant James E. Alsobrooks with the Purple Heart for injuries he sustained during the legendary Battle of the Bulge.

The award ceremony is scheduled to take place Friday afternoon at the division’s headquarters building.

Alsobrooks spent over 30-years as a civil servant at Fort Campbell after leaving the military and never received a formal military ceremony for his Purple Heart.
