Hopkinsville-Christian County Library kicking off Imagination Library

The Hopkinsville-Christian County Library will be kicking off its Imagination Library Thursday, December 13th at 9 a.m. and officials are inviting the public and local dignitaries to attend.

Library officials hope to provide books to about 2,000 children living in the community through the program each year.

The Dolly Parton Imagination Library began in Sevier County, Tennessee in 1996 to give children free, specially selected, high quality, age appropriate books directly to their homes every month.

Ms. Parton says parents who read with their children will ensure their child’s success.

Ms. Parton adds that the experience between parent and child during reading time will last a life time.

The Dolly Parton Imagination Library now partners with 1600 communities around the world to provide books to nearly 700,000 children every month.
