It didn’t take long for Clarksville Police to locate and apprehend two suspected robbers early this morning.

Police say around 1:20 a.m. officers responded to a call in reference to a robbery that took place in the parking lot of a business located in the 1600 block of Fort Campbell Boulevard around 1 am.

An 18 year man told officers he was driven by his friend to the parking lot, where subsequently, a male wearing a bandanna and black jacket held a gun to his head and demanded his money and his cell phone.

The 18-year old also told police that after the robber received over $600 and his friend’s cell phone, the suspect left in a dark colored SUV with plastic over a window.

Police were able to determine the robbery was set up by the victim’s friend, now identified as 18-year old Marques Townsend of Ambleside Drive.

Police say Townsend, along with his cousin, 20-year old Willie Charles Cole II of South 11th Street, coordinated a plan to have the victim in the Ft Campbell business parking lot where the robbery would take place.

The 18 year old victim’s cash and cell phone were returned to him.

Townsend and Cole were both charged with aggravated robbery and conspiracy and were booked into the Montgomery County Jail.
