|Elkton to host first Christmas parade in 30 years Friday|
Many communities held their Christmas parades over the weekend, but Elkton will host its first parade in three decades later this week.
The Elkton Christmas parade will be Friday night at 6pm, beginning at Todd County Central High School and traveling to the Historic Square. State Representative Martha Jane King will be the Grand Marshal and Santa Claus is expected to make it to Todd County just in time to participate.
Todd County Welcome Center Director Linda Fowler says the community is excited.
Ms. Fowler says there hadn’t been a parade in Elkton in at least 30 years.
There will be singing of Christmas carols on the square led by the West Side Church of Christ at 6:30. Photos with Santa will take place from 7 until 9:30 at the Community House and the Todd County Community Alliance is sponsoring free horse drawn carriage rides from 7 until 9:30.
